Most travel blogs and reviews recommend staying in Chiang Rai for only 2-3 nights. However, we opted for a five-night stay and couldn't be happier with our decision. Our choice of accommodation was the Marriott's Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort, and it proved to be a wise one.

Nestled along the Kok River, this resort offers not just a place to stay but a destination in itself, especially after its recent renovations. We found ourselves spending a couple of days simply lounging by the pool and soaking in the tranquil atmosphere. The breakfast spread was exquisite, featuring a delightful mix of Western-style dishes alongside local and international flavors.

The Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort boasts a serene setting, with the resort's layout revolving around a magnificent 200-year-old tree. We particularly enjoyed dining at Favola, their Italian restaurant, indulging in delicious pizzas and cocktails while admiring the picturesque sight of boats navigating the river.

Additionally, we took advantage of a nearby laundry service, PP Laundry Service, located just a stone's throw away from the resort, which offered quality service at a reasonable rate of 60 THB per kilo and even provided hotel drop-offs.

One of the highlights of our stay was the exceptional service provided by the staff. "M," the concierge, impressed us with his extensive knowledge of the local area and his ability to connect with everyone. Upon sharing our list of places to visit, he seamlessly coordinated everything with a local driver and tour guide named Chai. Feel free to DM us for Chai's contact information.

Furthermore, every Saturday, Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort hosts a program in collaboration with local Buddhist monks, offering guests the opportunity to participate in the traditional practice of giving alms or small food donations. It's a well-organized and culturally enriching experience that we highly recommend partaking in.

Overall, our extended stay at Le Méridien Chiang Rai Resort surpassed our expectations, thanks to its impeccable service, picturesque setting, and thoughtful amenities. It truly exemplifies the essence of hospitality and made our trip to Chiang Rai an unforgettable one.
