Phuket: Crystal's Favorite Place In Thailand

"… I'm somewhere on a beach, sipping something strong". Dierks Bentley

I'm a beach girl through and through. When it comes to travel  I'll always opt for a beach stay over the mainland. Phuket came highly recommended, albeit with a cautionary note about its Full Moon parties getting wild. However, I found Phuket to be surprisingly family-friendly, with Patong Beach stealing the spotlight as my top pick for beach fun, food, and activities in Thailand.

Sure, Phuket isn't exactly a hidden gem like some of the other places we've explored. Most folks have heard of this Thai island, and judging by the crowds on the tours we joined, it's a pretty popular spot and there's a good reason for its fame. Phuket exudes this laid-back vibe that Bangkok just can't match, not to mention its jaw-droppingly beautiful islands.

During our time in Phuket, we hopped around to three different locations: the serene Westin Sarong Bay on the east, the charming Courtyard Marriott in Old Town, and the beachside Sheraton Four Points in Patong Beach. While the old town had its charm, Patong Beach stole my heart (https://www.marriott.com/en-us/hotels/hktfp-four-points-phuket-patong-beach-resort/overview/). Not only was the Four Points a fantastic hotel, but its beachfront location was simply unbeatable. We practically lived in the infinity pool, soaking up the sun and enjoying some prime people-watching. And let's not forget Mr. Kibs, our favorite food truck. Their food was budget-friendly and delicious!

In the mornings, we'd take leisurely strolls along the beach. As for nightlife, Phuket's famous walking street offered a little slice of everything you could imagine. And for the ultimate sunset experience paired with mouthwatering seafood and cocktails, you've got to check out Meg Kram (pictures below)(https://megkhramthesunshine.com/th/home-th/). Just make sure to book your reservations well in advance – they're known for their sunset views and fantastic flare.

Overall, Phuket offers a little something for everyone – whether you're into party scenes, family-friendly fun, or intimate outings. Don't let its reputation scare you off. And as for the islands, booking tours with Viator (https://www.viator.com/tours/Phuket/Phi-Phi-Day-Trip-with-Seaview-Lunch/) makes it a breeze to spend the day exploring with a thousand of your closest friends! Sure, the islands can get crowded, but trust me, it's worth it. Our boat cruise through the Phi Phi Islands was unforgettable, and on our next trip, we're eyeing the Similan Islands for our next adventure.
