When planning a trip to Kuala Lumpur, consider both the hotel's location and cost, as they are crucial. Kuala Lumpur, a sprawling metropolis, offers diverse areas each with distinct advantages and drawbacks. During our visit, we experienced three Marriott properties over 27 nights in various city parts, each remarkable for its hospitality.

JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur

The JW Marriott Kuala Lumpur lives up to its luxury reputation, nestled in the bustling Golden Triangle near Bukit Bintang, famous for high-end shopping and proximity to the Petronas Towers. The standout feature was the Executive Lounge, not just for its amenities but for the exceptional staff, whose professionalism and attentiveness were second to none.

**Pros:

  - Lounge Access for Bonvoy members with breakfast and dinner appetizers + drinks served

  - Central location near shopping malls like Pavilion, Starhill, and Fahrenheit 88

  - Known for comfortable beds, nice sheets, and room upgrades for Bonvoy members

  - Large swimming pool with cabanas and bar service

  - Well-equipped gym facilities

  - Friendly staff

**Cons:

  - Crowded, especially during breakfast at the Shoop

  - Limited food selection in the lounge

  - No windows in the lounge

  - Noise and crowds due to city center location

Sheraton Imperial Kuala Lumpur

Situated in the more laid-back Chow Kit area, the Sheraton Imperial KL is steps away from Heritage Row's quaint local restaurants and an excellent Thai massage spot (https://wtraditionalthai.com/ ). Ask for Gift. She's amazing! While the building is older, it's well-maintained, and the lounge staff excel in service. The head concierge, Anwar, is a standout. He is known for his extensive knowledge and helpfulness, and he seems to know everyone in the city. He helped make our stay extra special, and people like him make traveling fun. You need to stay there so you can meet him.

**Pros:

  - Lounge access for Bonvoy members with better food selection

  - Bright lounge with great views

  - Inviting lobby and excellent concierge staff

  - Spacious rooms with good upgrades for Bonvoy members

  - Great breakfast options

  - Access to spa facilities

**Cons:

  - Older rooms in need of renovation

  - Crowded lounge sometimes with children allowed

  - Limited and dated gym equipment

The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur

The third hotel we stayed at in KL was the Majestic. Everyone in the city knows about this hotel, and when you say you are staying there, the overall response is, “we love that place.” The Majestic Hotel is a renowned historic establishment in Kuala Lumpur, located near Chinatown, the National Museum, and Merdeka Square.

While their website features the hotel's history, it's the interactions with their head concierge and secret weapon, Sherezal, that truly bring the hotel's story to life. He grew up not far from the Majestic and even did history reports on the hotel as a school-aged child. His passion for the history of his city and HIS hotel is infectious. We were lucky enough to have him take us on a tour of the hotel. So, not only has he escorted Prince Charles, but he can also add us to his resume. Sherezal also does Colonial Walking Tours through the local area. His passion for the hotel's history and his personal connection to the area, add depth to the guest experience.

**Pros:

  - Amazing breakfast

  - Convenient location near the National Museum, metro, and Chinatown

  - Historic yet beautifully renovated hotel

  - Knowledgeable and professional concierge staff

  - Spacious suites with all amenities

  - Evening drinks and snacks for Bonvoy members

  - Two pools available

**Cons:

  - Uncomfortable pool loungers- no cushions on the chairs

  - Limited dining options nearby

  - Small and limited gym facility
